Spending too much time in the cold snow and ice not your thing? That’s no reason to abandon your waistline to the winter blues. You can keep active and have fun inside all winter long! Why not try running or even walking up and down your stairs? This is an aerobic exercise that will get your heart rate going and make you sweat. The calories will melt off! Or how about having a hula hoop party? You don’t need a lot of space to hula; it’s likely you won’t break anything, and if you have children hula hoops can be a fun way to keep them in shape as well. Along those same lines, try hosting a dance party, if you have the space. Nothing is more fun than getting down to your favorite tunes, and dancing is a really good way to burn off some calories. Even cleaning your house can be good exercise! If you get tired of the confines of your own abode, grab some friends and try mall-walking. Go in the morning when the mall isn’t busy and then grab some coffee afterwards, perhaps. There are many ways to stay active in the winter. Don’t surrender to the sofa. Get moving! If you’re a runner or even a regular walker, you are probably familiar with the usual winter doldrums and dangers of keeping up an exercise routine. Snow and ice is slippery and dangerous. Cold weather can cause frost-bite and is in general uncomfortable and painful to endure. Everyone knows that bundling up before you go outside is a good idea, but here a few tips that perhaps you didn’t know. When you go out, DO NOT wear cotton. Cotton dries very slowly and holds in moisture, which keeps skin colder. Instead, dress in layers, wearing a synthetic material closest to your skin, and then toping it off with a layer of wool. Wind resistant fabrics like Gortex are also helpful. Cover your mouth with a scarf or hanky while you exercise. This will help warm your breath. Cold air irritates the throat and air passages, and can cause pain. Finally, do a warm up before you leave the house, such as stretching and running in place. Cold muscles are less pliable and therefore more susceptible to pulls. Source: To create link towards this article on your website, copy and paste the text below in your page. Preview :
